What is Gallows Road?

Gallows Road is a free, browser-based adaptation of the classic social deduction card game Werewolf. Gather five to twenty players in a shared lobby and receive your secret role: Villager, Werewolf, or one of many special characters whose powers may tip the balance of fate.

The village deliberates by day. The wolves hunt by night. Trust is currency. Every word may condemn you.

How to Play

  1. Join or create a lobby. Invite friends with a code, or join a public game already forming.
  2. Receive your role. Roles are assigned secretly. Werewolves know each other. The village does not.
  3. Deliberate by day. The village debates who to accuse. Vote to eliminate the suspected monster.
  4. Survive the night. Werewolves silently claim their victim. Special roles act in secret.
  5. Win the village. The village wins when all werewolves are eliminated. The wolves win if they outnumber the villagers.

Roles and Characters

The game features a cast of roles, each with distinct abilities that alter the course of the night. Among the village, you may find a Seer who sees through deception, an Elder who can survive a first attack, or a Hunter who takes someone with them in elimination.

Lobby hosts configure which roles enter play, from a simple two-wolf village of eight to a twenty-player tournament of deception.

The village has gathered. The night is long. Choose wisely.
